As part of our What’s on your mind? blog series, we will be posting mid-month entries by CCJ staff as a way for you to get to know us better. This third mid-month staff post is by our Operations and Data Manager Lovell Johnson:

It goes without saying that times are a bit strange at the moment, given the COVID-19 situation. Despite the warm weather, I cannot help but feel that it is still March and that there is much to be done to prepare for spring. Fast forward a month or two later, and here we are, already in the peak of May! It seems as if we are all taking part in a home-movie portrayal of Groundhog Day directed by, produced by, and starring ourselves. In other words, we are really having an opportunity to get to know our “same old, same old.” With everything seeming to repeat itself, it can be easy to dwell on the negatives. Instead, I find great comfort in my days of uniformity.

My morning routine: a second cup of coffee, a socially distant wave to the mailman, and a perfectly themed morning playlist are all signs pointing me in the right direction. All three items share something important in common: Although they appear to always be the same, the experience is always different.

The songs that make up this playlist are both new and old to me, yet with every listen comes something that I had previously never noticed. I hope these songs find you well and help you enjoy your time at home. With any luck, this playlist will open up the doors for you to find something exciting in your life’s “same old, same old.”
