Back in April, our Community Organizer for Greene County, Tonya Yoders, sat on a panel at MIT during their event titled Legacies of Coal: In Search of a Just Transition.

Reflecting on her experience, Tonya stated that speaking on the panel at MIT was, “something I never would have thought I would get to do.” The event was their public launch of the Environmental Solutions Initiative’s Climate Justice Program.

“The people at MIT who organized the panel event were all incredibly welcoming and I got a sense that they truly are wanting to collaborate with CCJ going forward. MIT is interested in using their resources to amplify our voices in Greene County and the larger region to produce research and real tools to help improve our economy and environment. I am very appreciative of their attention and interest on my home.”
