CCJ Awarded the 2023 Agency Award

Posted May 11, 2023, by CCJ

On May 10th, 2023, CCJ was awarded the 2023 Agency Award from our friends at the Washington County Teen Outreach during their annual “One Kid at a Time” Awards. The award, given to an agency that provides support for youth in our community, honors CCJ’s efforts over the past year. The award was accepted by our Organizing Director, Heaven Sensky.

The event was held at the Stone Pavilion at Washington Park. The event was held at the Stone Pavilion at Washington Park. “Washington County Teen Outreach chose the Center for Coalfield Justice for their Agency Award this year for their annual “One kid at a time” awards. We were thrilled and honored to receive this award as we value supporting young people in the community, and we believe their voices are the future. CCJ has worked to support the Teen Center by partnering with them to hold movie nights in Firefly Garden’s for young people in our communities to enjoy. We look forward to continuing to work with the teen center, and are hopeful that our organization can provide even more support in working with young people to improve our communities.”

We would also like to highlight Pam Kilgore (our friend and CCJ Member) and her accomplishments as the winner of the 2023 Community Award. Pam gives back to the community in many ways and is our neighbor at the Firefly Gardens greenspace created in downtown Washington. Check out some of her work with WashPA Outdoors here!
