We are so proud of our Community Organizer Jodi Borello, who is being recognized at the 2024 Physicians for Social Responsibility Health Heroes Awards!
Jodi testified in front of the 43rd Statewide Grand Jury about the harm the oil and gas industry caused her family and the failure by regulators to protect public health. Her testimony helped shape the Grand Jury’s recommendations for better protections and led to criminal charges against CNX Resources.
Since then, she has joined CCJ’s staff and helped co-found MAD-FACTS (Moms and Dads: Family Awareness of Cancer Threat Spike), a volunteer group of impacted families and concerned residents dedicated to sharing knowledge of fracking health harms and pushing policymakers to do more to protect the lives of residents.
Jodi received the Physicians for Social Responsibility Pennsylvania Chapter Health Hero Award in Washington, DC. The award celebrates “people who make exemplary efforts in addressing environmental risks to human health through collaborations and work that strengthens PSR’s mission.”
