We will have an evening filled with delicious food and drinks, a cozy atmosphere, and of course GREAT company! Not only will you get to mingle with our wonderful CCJ community, but we also have several exciting ways to try your luck while raising money to support our work. Take part in our in-person activities like the 50/50 drawing and our large raffle full of prizes, local goods, and experiences!

There are some especially fun and interesting prizes in this year’s hybrid silent auction! That’s right, everyone! Can’t attend, but wish you could still support the fundraiser? Now you can! For the first time, whether you join in person or from the comfort of your home, you’ll now be able to bid leading up to and during the event, no matter where you are! Register as a bidder to get notifications when the auction goes LIVE on September 24th.

Our community has already begun showing their support by contributing so many exciting donations for this year’s silent auction and raffle. Take a little peek 👀 at some of the goodies available this year:

Donations shown: The entire National Park collection from Field Notes, a beautiful quilt by southwestern PA’s own Alice Coptis, three nature prints by artist V.Steiner, a bundle from Patagonia Pittsburgh (valued at over $250!), and an Appalachian flag and merch bundle from Hippies Daughter. Thank you to our generous donors!

You loved his soulful tunes last year, and he is back! This year we are thrilled to feature music by Aristotle Jones: The Appalachian Soul Man once again!

A special thank you is in order to Hughes Corporation & Evergreen Action for sponsoring our event!

  • Sarah Sweeney (she/her) grew up in a rural area of Greene County, where she lived for most of her life, enjoying the natural beauty and other things a country lifestyle offers, such as foraging for morels, lots of hiking, fishing at popular lake and pond areas, and photographing wildlife. After moving out of the state for a few years in her early 20s, she returned to southwestern Pennsylvania, where she has since lived in Washington County. She has seen first-hand the way the extraction of fossil fuels has harmed not only the once lush wooded areas she called home as a child, but also how people have been harmed. In 2020, she began volunteering with the Center for Coalfield Justice and has continued to volunteer since then, as well as doing several art projects for the organization. In early 2024, she joined the Center For Coalfield Justice as a fellow. She is eager to deepen her understanding of the communities CCJ serves, and be able to provide support to community members who have experienced hardships at the hands of the fossil fuel industry.
