CCJ is partnering with the Donora Historical Society and Smog Museum for a webinar to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Donora smog, an event that led to the creation of the Clean Air Act. The deadly smog of 1948, one of the worst air pollution disasters in history, killed 21 people and caused health issues for thousands more in the town of Donora located in the Monongahela Valley in southwestern Pennsylvania.
