Come out to Dutch Fork Lake and join us for 🐠Free Kids Fishing Day🐟 on Sunday May 28th. Kids and adults can fish all day without a license. We will be set up at the main parking lot by the boat launch from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM.
We’re so excited to report that we’ve already surpassed our goal for registration: so many kids are going to be fishing with us! We are working really hard to make sure that every kid who comes to this event will have a pole and supplies — but make sure to register soon so we can try to be prepared for you! For those who register after May 19th: if you have your own pole, bring it with you, just in case. We’ll have extra poles on-site, but we can’t guarantee that they’ll be strung. All are still welcome to enjoy the Free Kids Fishing Day and Dutch Fork Lake!
If you are an experienced angler, come out and help us teach the little ones some tips and tricks! Select that you would like to volunteer below.
The Center for Coalfield Justice is co-sponsoring this event with Buffalo Creek Watershed Association as part of our efforts to highlight and protect Dutch Fork Lake. You can learn more about our work at protectdutchforklake.org and help us protect Dutch Fork Lake from future undermining and sign our petition. Please add any stories or pictures you might have of Dutch Fork Lake here, so we can continue to share stories about why Dutch Fork Lake is important and worth protecting!
Please bring your own water bottle as well as your own chairs if you prefer sitting while fishing. Be sure to check the forecast and dress accordingly. We will see you there rain or shine. ⛅️☀️
If you’ve joined us before and your child has outgrown their pole, please bring that pole back and exchange it for a bigger pole!
Please register separately all adults planning on attending. Thank you!
