We had fun at our Kids’ Fishing Day at Dutch Fork Lake!

The Dutch Fork Lake Free Kids’ Fishing day, offered by CCJ and the BCWA (Buffalo Creek Watershed Association), was a good time for all that came out. All but one of the young ones got to reel in a fish at some point during the day. Not only did participants get to do some fishing, they also got to see some on-the-fly troubleshooting and fishing rod repair when hooks fell off or other issues arose.

The weather on the day of the event was a bit shy of ideal, so for those of you that may have wanted to come out and didn’t, be aware that we still have plenty of push-button fishing rods available for little ones, for free! Please reach out to Nick at nick@centerforcoalfieldjustice.org if you would like a young person’s beginner fishing pole.

July 4th is another free, no-license-needed fishing day for all Pennsylvanians, both kids and adults, so be sure to get out and enjoy your local fisheries on Independence Day!
